Monday’s Thoughts

Today, something interesting and comforting came across my mind. Before my sister and I were born, my mother lost three babies before they were born. My entire life I’ve wondered about the siblings I never got to meet. Wondered if they had lived, if I would even be here in this world. Then another thought struck my mind.

When my sister married, I gained a brother-in-law who became the brother I never had. Then when I married, I gained two more brothers-in-law who instantly felt like family. I realized the mysterious ways in which God works. The place in my life that was voided of three siblings for years has been filled with those I love as much as my own blood. It honestly brings me chills to think about the coincidence.

Though my brothers-in-law will never replace the siblings I hope to meet when I leave this Earth, I still see divinity in all of it. Gaining three siblings is both a symbol and a support system how I see it. His faithfulness can be found in the most coincidental of places.
