The Fractured Elbow

Have you ever broken a bone?

I’ve always been known to be clumsy since a very young age, and even now into adulthood. But nothing quite beats of the story of when I fractured my elbow in a fiberglass bathtub at age twelve. I slipped, landed on my right elbow, and instantly felt the uncomfortable sensation of my funny bone from the impact. It didn’t hurt at first, then about half an hour later I couldn’t extend my arm without pain in my elbow.

My parents made a makeshift sling for me to wear until we could get it examined the next day. Upon getting getting an X-ray, it was determined that I fractured the tip of my elbow. I had to wear a cast for three weeks, all from falling in a bathtub. To this day I’m extra careful of my footing.
